A Coral Dream is a conceptual animated short film that shows a possible image of what a future might look like if there are no efforts made to conserve the coral reefs in the Maldives. The story is set in a world where even the idea of seeing a healthy coral is fictional and thereby something to only dream about. The aim of this short animation film is to contribute in raising awareness about coral bleaching in the Maldives in hopes to create a unified effort to minimise the negative human impact towards coral bleaching.

State Branding - Mockup
_edited.png)
Sabah, Malaysia
The state branding about Sabah aims to promote Sabah as the best ecotourism state in Malaysia among the youth. To guarantee that a getaway to Sabah’s nature-infused environment will offer the youth an experience of pure tranquility and an unforgettable experience in order to boost their motivation and show that there is more to life and more adventures along the way to look forward to. Especially since 1 in 5 young adults and youth suffer from mental illnesses that have many causes and results mainly from complex interactions between a person’s environment and the society they live in. Youth nowadays are constantly on social media, going out to the malls on weekends and spending their time at home or attending classes. As one of the most significant years of growth and development of an individual, constantly living in the same routine and creating a comfort zone from the hustle of the city life unknowingly causes serious mental health issues among the youth in the long term. It is crucial for the youth to get out of their comfort zone, take a break, go on an adventure and watch their life come alive.

Cosmic
Typography
The vast universe has always been the most intriguing subject for me. From a young age, constantly stargazing and contemplating about the outer space has immensely influenced my personality and the person I am today - to always think beyond limitations as well as being more open to new possibilities and ideas. Therefore, this led me to create the Cosmic font. In the Cosmic font, each letter has been inspired by different elements and matters related to the outer space such as stars, constellations, planets, the moon, rockets, satellites and telescopes. The letters have been designed with a glow effect to represent the cosmos and the bright matters in the galaxy.
An Installation Piece
Inspired by Traditional Coral Stone Carvings
This is an installation piece inspired by the ancient coral stone carvings in the Male’ Friday Mosque. The focal point of the design is the symbol or better known as the seal of Sultan Ibrahim Iskandhar I, who ordered the construction of the Male’ friday Mosque during his reign in 1658. The patterns in the background of the seal are inspired by the coral stone carving patterns and ornamental floral designs which are seen on the exterior of the Male’ Friday Mosque. All these elements together and the design being hand-drawn make the engraving work on the installation a clear representation of the coral stone carvings that are distinctively seen on the exterior of the Male’ Friday Mosque.

Character Design
This series of character designs are inspired by Tim Burton's character design style. Tim Burton's character design inspiration comes from German expressionism and Gothic. The inspiration for this characters are mostly taken from Tim Burton's movie 'Corpse Bride' and 'A night before christmas'. I used a pale skin colour tone with a hint of black eyeshadow for the cast of the story in order to achieve this style as well as using basic shape as a foundation to design these three characters. The characters are also designed based on their personality an this style helps to further exaggerate the story behind each cast designed.
Poster Design
This poster design is inpired by romanticism art movement along with Tim Burton's movie poster style. The composition of the artwork is placed in a manner that the main focus and contrast is on the character and the cure on her hand. The artwork focuses on the main character - Ruby. She finds the cure and saves her city from an invasion of zombies and thus the title of the poster "The Saviour". The font style of the title and the tagline is Charter Bold. The reason for this typeface is to bring out a strong and firm vibe. Also, the typeface for the director's name is Lato Regular since it's clearer and more simplistic and therefore, complements the title and font style.
